TRUMP LOST! Don't give a shit. The Senate's probably staying red, which is the only sorta-important part of this entire clusterfuck in the first place.
BIDEN WON! Congratulations to my Leftie and/or Never-Trump buddies for working for months at top capacity to get their heavily-funded, weeping-in-the-streets, "willathepeepul" candidate past the most despised politician on earth with what amounts to a breathtakingly -- no, a TRANSPARENTLY -- thin "mandate". Revel in it -- trust me, from experience, this exact moment is the least disappointed you're ever going to be in Biden.

ReplyDeleteThe part of the whole thing that's already starting to amuse me is Blue Team's rending of garments over taking a hosing in the House, failure to capture the Senate, and micrometer-sliced-thin margin of "victory" for the Presidency. The hard-left progressives are bitching because they feel like the reason for their Wild Mouse roller-coaster ride was that the Dems failed to embrace "Progressive Thought" enough.
ReplyDeleteThey simply cannot get a grasp on the idea that most of America from the ghettos to the barrios to the ever-shrinking middle class neighborhoods to the rich-bitch dickheads are pretty conservative ("conservative", not "psycho-twat-Trumpist") no matter what the "If It Bleeds It Leads" press has to say about it.
The hard=left branch of the party embracing commies, Leninists, Antifa, socialists, and AOC (the left's 'Bartender' edition of 'Gameshow Host' Trump) was very nearly the death of the party. They haven't noticed this yet because they "won" -- and they ain't out of the woods yet. If they keep poking that bear, mid-term elections will be a fucking blood-bath.
Same can be said for hard-right Trumpist mouth-breathers, evangelicals, and separatists. Some of the press was predicting the death of the Republican Party because of these shitheads, and for a change it wasn't just propaganda. Trump nearly destroyed the party, and it's still in ICU, and if the Repubs don't have at least a tacit "Well, golly, fucked THAT up" moment with themselves, they're chasing destruction.
After 4 years of Trump and watching Portland burning and continuing to burn as the left dithers, MOST of America is right to the teeth with all of them, and less apparently, has been for more than a decade. The result has been half-assed government by Presidential Proclamation while the extremist "take no prisoners!" Congress is rolling uselessly in the muddy sewer trying to strangle one another. Pelosi, Schumer, McConnell, and Cruz need to be duct-taped into a wad and, chain-anchored by AOC dropped into the center of the nearest handy river from a tall bridge for the entertainment of the rest of us and the general edification of the rest of Congress concerning our mood.
Whether all that translates to a general political uprising and/or candidate(s) that I can vote FOR instead of AGAINST remains to be seen. For my part, I WILL vote next time around, and will continue to do so. But both sides can kiss my ass if they think they've got call on me.
Yeah, that razor-thin margin was not comforting. I have a hard time comprehending the thinking of Trump supporters. I understand being an economic conservative and I also understand, with reservations, voting along social conservative lines. But Trump isn't really a conservative. He's an accomplished con man and a populist, and while he has done what his hard-conservative advisors bid him do he has also seriously undermined our long-term prospects. Not by being a conservative, but by being a chronic narcissist and a whining bitch. Untold numbers of solid Republicans came out against him. Just yesterday that dick-suck AG, by agreeing to bring the Justice Department down to find, not just look for, election irregularities, led the man in charge of such activity to resign. This wasn't an outlier case, just the day's example of professionals no longer able to stomach the toxicity of that President and his team of sycophants. And still no one remembers how he lay down when Russia annexed the Crimea, or got pranked by North Korea, or gave a ton of shit to NATO, or unintentionally made the UN General Assembly bust out into laughter. Trumpsters are about nothing but "owning the Libs". At least Biden says the right things, though like G.W. Bush he's undoubtedly best suited for middle management. These people who refer to him as any kind of leftist threat are ridiculous.
